Legal & General
Legal & General needed to strengthen its cyber defence capability in a challenging on-site market....
Flatfair is a London based company, that offers a deposit-free rental platform enabling tenants to pay a membership fee instead of traditional tenancy deposits, while providing landlords with extra protection.
Following the appointment of a new CTO, flatfair was looking to grow its engineering team with two permanent hires at mid and senior level. While the business had attempted to hire directly, the absence of a dedicated talent resource meant application volumes were high but difficult to manage, and the overall quality was not aligning with the technical requirements.
We were approached by flatfair’s HR Business Partner, who we had worked with previously, to support the search and bring structure, focus and technical accuracy to the process.
We met with the CTO and HRBP to take detailed briefs on both roles, aligning on the core requirements, technical stack and experience thresholds. From there, we ran a proactive search strategy, targeting software engineers with experience across Python, Django and AWS.
We built a tightly aligned shortlist and managed the process end to end, from market engagement through to interview preparation, feedback and offer management. Throughout, we maintained close contact with candidates to understand motivations and manage expectations well ahead of offer stage.
Within five days of the initial briefing, we delivered a shortlist of five candidates. Of the full shortlist, 80% progressed to first interview, 60% to second interview and 60% to final interview.
Two offers were made and both candidates accepted, with the full interview process completed in approximately two weeks. The hires strengthened flatfair’s engineering capability at a pivotal point following the arrival of their new CTO.
